Transforming Dreams: KVIC’s Groundbreaking Seminar on Rural Industrialisation Ignites Hope and Innovation
A seminar titled “Rural Industrialisation under the People’s Education Programme” was recently hosted at the School of Management, SASTRA University, Thirumalaisamudhram. Jointly organised by the Ministry of MSME, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), and City Union Bank in collaboration with the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Development Studies, the event saw the participation of around 120 students.
Keynote speaker B.N. Suresh, the State Director of KVIC, emphasized the significant contribution of rural artisans in producing eco-friendly, self-reliant, and sustainable products. His address highlighted the critical role these artisans play in the broader industrial landscape. Additionally, R. Vasi Rajan, Deputy Director of KVIC, MSME in Chennai, provided a succinct overview of various government schemes designed to support and empower rural entrepreneurs.
The seminar aimed to educate the attendees on the crucial aspects of rural industrialization, focusing on sustainability and self-reliance. Moreover, it served as a platform for students to gain insights into the opportunities and resources available to bolster rural industries.
