Shocking Fraud Unveiled: 7-Member SIT Assembled to Investigate Massive Online Investment Scam in Assam
In response to escalating concerns over an online investment scam linked to fraudster Bishal Phukan, a seven-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the case. The investigation will be spearheaded by Inspector General of Police (IGP) of CID Assam, Sanjukta Parashar, noted for her prowess in managing intricate investigations.
The SIT’s primary focus will be on the case involving Sumi Borah, a Dibrugarh-based social media influencer accused of promoting the fraudulent investment scheme. The team includes Dibrugarh Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) (Crime) Sizal Agarwal, along with three CID inspectors and two police superintendents, all of whom are high-ranking officials.
This specialized task force is dedicated to ensuring a thorough investigation, reflecting Assam Police’s commitment to tackling rising digital fraud and safeguarding citizens from online scams.
