MP Durai Vaiko Advocates for More Manpower at Tiruchi Airport

Tiruchi Lok Sabha MP Durai Vaiko has pledged to urge the Centre to increase staffing at Tiruchi International Airport’s Customs and Immigration wings. Vaiko noted that despite several designated counters in the airport’s new terminal, personnel shortages extend passengers’ waiting times, especially during peak hours with consecutive international flights.

Vaiko shared that he had discussed the requirement for additional manpower with relevant Union Ministries. On another front, he revealed that he had proposed the installation of pharmacies and visitor toilets on both the arrival and departure sides of the airport, which officials had supported. Regarding runway expansion, Vaiko reported that roughly 95% of land acquisition is complete, and he is closely monitoring the progress.

This announcement aims to optimize passenger experience and infrastructure at Tiruchi International Airport.
