A tragic road accident on Sochaygang Road near Manjushree School in Sikkim claimed the life of a minor girl on September 6. The collision, which involved a head-on crash with a speeding government vehicle, also injured four others, including the vehicle’s teenage driver.
Eyewitnesses reported that the government vehicle, driven by Amit Pradhan, collided with the private vehicle operated by a 15-year-old boy, raising serious concerns about underage driving. Authorities have since filed a case against Amit Pradhan under sections 281/125(a)(b)/106 of the BNS 2024 Act.
The incident has heightened worries over road safety in the area, given the involvement of a minor in such a serious accident. Further investigations are ongoing.
