TPCC spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty condemned a Facebook post by state cabinet minister Sudhangshu Das, which stated that Hindus have no moral right to pray. Chakraborty criticized the government and party for not addressing this inflammatory post promptly.
Das’s post read, "In my view, Hindus have no right to offer prayers to gods and goddesses because those who can’t protect their temples don’t deserve to organize prayers or puja. While Hindu temples are being attacked, we are engaged in the politics of secularism. Being a Hindu, this is a shame and extreme failure."
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] strongly condemned the minister’s post, urging Chief Minister Saha to take decisive action. CPI(M) leader Rakhal Majumder stated, "This post aims to cause trouble against minority communities and will aid those trying to destabilize peace. We request the CM to take appropriate steps against the minister for his inflammatory remarks."
