Brave Soldier Heroically Injured in Heinous Terrorist Assault at J&K’s Sunjwan Army Camp
A soldier was injured on September 2 when terrorists attacked the Sunjwan army camp near the Santry Post area in Jammu Darbar, Jammu and Kashmir. The camp is operated by the 36 Infantry Brigade. In response to the attack, a search operation has been initiated to locate the terrorists.
This incident follows a recent foiled infiltration attempt by security forces along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district on August 31. During that operation, a gunfight ensued after terrorists were spotted near the LOC. Additionally, three terrorists were killed in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district last week. According to the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, two terrorists were neutralized in the Machil sector and another in the Tangdhar sector.
These events come as tensions escalate between security forces and terrorists ahead of the Union Territory’s Assembly elections, scheduled to commence on September 18.
