The Arlington Cemetery confirmed a dispute with a cemetery worker who attempted to enforce federal laws banning political activities on military grounds. The Trump campaign denied any physical altercation, claiming they had approval for the presence of a photographer and videographer. The campaign attributed the incident to a staffer having a “mental health episode.”
Trump defended his actions, stating he took pictures upon the families’ request, though he personally did not wish to. The Harris campaign used this controversy to underscore Trump’s history of alleged disrespectful remarks about veterans, which he has denied. Harris emphasized that Trump’s actions demonstrated his unworthiness to ever hold the presidential office again.
