Lot Mandal Officer Arrested for Bribery in Tinsukia
GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption apprehended Jukeswar Moran, a Lot Mandal officer, on Thursday, August 29, in Tinsukia, Assam, on charges of bribery.
Moran, employed at the Doomdooma Revenue Circle’s Circle Office, allegedly solicited a ₹40,000 bribe for processing land mutation records, leading to a formal complaint being lodged against him.
In response, anti-corruption officials organized a sting operation, successfully capturing Moran as he accepted ₹15,000, a partial payment of the demanded bribe, from the complainant.
The officer was promptly arrested, and the bribe money was recovered. A case has been filed at the ACB Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988.
This arrest highlights ongoing efforts to curb corruption in public offices, reinforcing the commitment to transparency and integrity within Assam’s administrative framework.
