Groundbreaking SpaceX Mission: Feel the Excitement of the First Civilian Spacewalk!

During their upcoming multi-day mission, the crew and Dragon spacecraft will attempt to achieve the highest Earth orbit since the Apollo program and participate in the first-ever commercial spacewalk, according to SpaceX.
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — SpaceX is preparing to launch a new mission featuring the first-ever commercial spacewalk. Set for Tuesday at 3:38 a.m. Eastern Time, the Polaris Dawn mission will lift off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The mission comprises four civilians: Mission Pilot Kidd Poteet, Mission Specialist Sarah Gillis, and Mission Specialist and Medical Officer Anna Menon. This will be the crew’s first human spaceflight.
According to SpaceX, the mission aims to set a new record for the highest Earth orbit since the Apollo era while conducting the first commercial spacewalk. Additionally, they will undertake 36 research studies from 31 partner institutions focused on advancing human health on Earth and in long-duration spaceflight. The mission will also test Starlink laser-based communications in space.
