Alert! Delhi Traffic Police Issues Urgent Advisory for Janmashtami 2024: Avoid THESE Routes to Ensure a Smooth Celebration
Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Janmashtami celebrations on Sunday, cautioning commuters and devotees about restrictions near major temples and procession routes on Monday. Among the key locations for Janmashtami events are Laxmi Narain Mandir, ISKCON Temple in East of Kailash, Dwarka Sector 13, Rohini Sector 25, DDA Ground in Dwarka Sector 10, Janmashtami Park in Punjabi Bagh, Golok Dham Temple, Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth in Chhattarpur, Gufawala Mandir in Preet Vihar, and Santoshi Mata Mandir in Hari Nagar.
The advisory notes that two Shobha Yatras will commence on August 25, 2024, from 3:00 PM onwards. It urges everyone to follow the advised routes and plan their journeys accordingly. Key restrictions include:
- Mandir Marg: No vehicles will be permitted between Talkatora Stadium Roundabout and Peshwa Road, including Mandir Lane from Shankar Road Roundabout to Mandir Marg.
- East of Kailash: Heavy vehicles will be restricted from Captain Gaur Marg and other major crossings between 8 AM Monday to 1 AM on August 27.
- Punjabi Bagh: Diversions will apply to commercial vehicles on Ring Road and nearby areas such as Raja Garden Crossing, Club Road T-Point, and Shivaji Park Crossing.
- Chhattarpur: Diversion points include CDR Chowk towards Andheria Mor and Y-Point towards 100-Foota Red Light.
- Hari Nagar: Restrictions will be imposed on Jail Road from Lajwanti Flyover to Tilak Nagar Metro Station, with specific diversions around Hari Nagar Chowk and Fateh Nagar Red Light.
- Rohini Sector 25: Nala Road Cut towards ISKCON Temple will be closed, directing traffic towards Rohini Sector 24.
Additionally, the advisory recommends avoiding roads near Dwarka Sports Complex and Metro Station Sector 10 due to the festivities. The Delhi Traffic Police highlights the likelihood of congestion and advises commuters to plan with extra time, use metro services, and other public transport options to mitigate delays.
