Shocking Twist: Himanta Biswa Sarma Expresses Outrage Over Congress Aligning with Pro-Pakistan Groups
Assam CM Criticizes Congress for Alliance with Pro-Pakistan Groups
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a fierce criticism against the Congress party over its alliance with what he termed as "pro-Pakistan" organizations. This attack followed the release of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) manifesto, which Sarma claims exemplifies a concerning trajectory within the Congress party.
"I never anticipated that the Congress would stoop so low as to jeopardize the unity and integrity of our nation," Sarma said. He alluded to suspected connections between Congress and international figures like George Soros, insisting, "These ties are no longer a secret. The fact that the Congress is now aligning with a pro-Pakistan organization is deeply disturbing. They risk undermining the sacrifices of our armed forces."
Sarma stressed the gravity of the situation, adding, "When a principal opposition party begins to join hands with forces that are fundamentally anti-India, the very fabric of our democracy is at stake. Whether in power or opposition, it is imperative that we all stand united in our commitment to the nation’s integrity and our armed forces."
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensified its offensive against Congress on Friday, August 23, over its coalition with the National Conference (NC) ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir elections. The BJP underscored aspects of the NC’s manifesto, which includes promises of reservations and the reinstatement of Articles 370 and 35A—provisions previously abrogated by the BJP-led central government.
This line of attack was formulated during a strategic session of the BJP’s core Kashmir group at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence on Friday. The narrative aims to corner Congress by highlighting their alliance’s potential risks to national integrity and the sacrifices of the Indian armed forces.
