Outraged AIUDF Leader Demands Justice for Kolkata Rape-Murder Victim, Calls for Urgent Security Measures for Women
Reacting strongly to the recent rape and murder incident at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, AIUDF General Secretary Rafiqul Islam has voiced deep concern and called for immediate and stringent action. Describing the episode as “unfortunate and a matter of great concern,” Islam raised alarm over the safety of women nationwide. He questioned, “If such incidents keep happening, how will our daughters feel safe stepping out?”
Islam underscored the urgency for a comprehensive investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He stressed that the perpetrator should face swift justice, adding, “The CBI must expedite its investigation, and the guilty party should be hanged. This would serve as a stern warning to others who might consider committing such heinous acts.”
Islam also highlighted the wider implications of the incident, calling for heightened vigilance by police and home departments in all states. He emphasized that institutions should adopt the highest security measures to protect women. “Every institution should implement the highest level of security arrangements to protect our daughters,” he insisted.
Concluding his statement, Islam condemned the atrocity and reiterated his demand for prompt and severe action. “We condemn the atrocity that occurred, and we urge the CBI to complete its investigation promptly and ensure that the culprit faces the harshest punishment. Only then can we find some solace,” he added.
This incident has sparked a wave of concern and calls for reform, spotlighting the ongoing issues surrounding women’s safety in India.
