“When I’m focused on the Oscars, I’m less focused on my show,” Kimmel admitted. Reflecting on his successful stints as Oscars host, Kimmel stated, “I did two years and it went well. I did another two years, it went well. I figured I’d take a little break.” This decision follows a commendable run where he invested ample creativity and effort into the show.
