Bangladesh Adviser: Hasina’s Extended Stay in Delhi Won’t Hurt Bilateral Ties with India
Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain has reassured that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s prolonged visit to Delhi will not adversely impact the robust bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India. Addressing queries from the media, Hossain emphasized that the bilateral relationship is rooted in mutual interests and is resilient.
Speaking to reporters after briefing diplomats, including Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma, in Dhaka, Hossain highlighted the interdependent interests of both nations. He reiterated Bangladesh’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening its relations with India.
Additionally, Home Affairs Adviser Brigadier General (Retired) M Sakhawat Hossain called on the political parties to take effective measures to curb scattered violence, including attacks on minority communities.
These statements underline the importance both nations place on maintaining a stable and cooperative relationship, amid regional complexities and internal challenges.
