Heartwarming Revelation: Missing JJM Contractor Sunil Gogoi Found Safe Beyond Assam Borders
Guwahati, August 11: The missing Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) contractor, Sunil Gogoi, has been located outside Assam, according to recent press reports. Sources within the Crime Investigation Department (CID) confirm that Gogoi is alive and has been hiding outside the state. This revelation comes after a beheaded body, initially suspected to be his, was found in a field near his residence in Sumoni, Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur district.
Emerging details indicate that Gogoi changed his mobile number and remained elusive for over two months. CID sources stated they are now preparing to apprehend him, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
The case began in June with the discovery of a burnt, beheaded body in Dhakuakhana. The body, found in a field with bamboo pieces allegedly used for setting it ablaze, was initially presumed to be Gogoi’s. However, DNA testing later identified the victim as Jahangir Hussain, a mason previously employed by Gogoi.
Following these test results, Lakhimpur Police intensified their efforts to locate Gogoi, even offering a cash reward for information leading to his capture. Gogoi is now a prime suspect in Hussain’s murder.
This complex case has seen multiple twists, but with CID officials tracing Gogoi’s whereabouts, an operation to bring him to justice is imminent. The investigation continues to unfold, promising further developments in the quest to unravel the truth behind this gruesome crime.
