Stunning Victory: Arunachal Police Heroically Seize Rs 4.5 Lakh Worth of Heroin, Arrest Three Suspects
The Arunachal Pradesh Police have arrested three individuals for possession of suspected heroin valued at Rs 4.5 lakh. The suspects were apprehended near Itanagar’s Shiv Mandir with 32.79 grams of the contraband, according to Capital Superintendent of Police, Rohit Rajbir Singh.
Interrogation revealed that the accused have been involved in drug peddling since 2023. They reportedly sourced the drugs from Harmuti, Assam, and sold them within the Itanagar Capital Region.
A case has been registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In a related incident on August 7, a local women’s group and police flying squads captured a woman accused of selling drugs from her grocery shop in Naharlagun. The woman, belonging to the Doke clan of the Galo tribe, is allegedly involved in drug smuggling with her husband.
