Honor and Valor: Majestic 52 ft. Flag Pole Erected in Tiruchi to Tribute Kargil War Hero
In a solemn tribute to Major Saravanan, a Kargil war hero from Tiruchi, a 52-foot national flag pole was hoisted at the Major Saravanan Memorial on Collector’s Office Road. This event, held on Saturday, marked both the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas and Major Saravanan’s 52nd birth anniversary. The illuminated flag pole was inaugurated by Major General Indrabalan, former Chief of Staff at the Dakshin Bharat Headquarters. Key attendees included District Revenue Officer R. Rajalakshmi, Colonel Y. Vijayakumar, Group Commander of the National Cadet Corps, Major Saravanan’s sister Chitraa Senthil Kumar, as well as various NCC and NSS cadet corps. Major General Indrabalan commemorated the victory at Batalik and paid homage to the sacrifices made by Major Saravanan and his comrades. The event served as a poignant reminder of the bravery and dedication of India’s armed forces.
