In 2012, Armaan Malik married Payal Malik, followed by his second marriage to Kritika Malik in 2018. This unique family dynamic took center stage when Armaan entered the Bigg Boss OTT 3 house in June 2023, accompanied by both wives, Payal and Kritika. Their participation in the reality show was met with significant backlash and accusations of promoting polygamy. Despite the friction, Kritika Malik emerged as the 4th runner-up of the season. However, this stint in Bigg Boss OTT has led to a firm decision from the Malik family regarding future participation in the show. Payal Malik recently clarified in one of her vlogs that no member of their family will be part of Bigg Boss again. She explained that their marital life became a focal point of discussion rather than their individual personalities or gameplay. Payal also noted that while some fans still wish to see them in Bigg Boss 18, the family has collectively decided against it due to the negative portrayal and relentless scrutiny they faced.
“Aab humne yahi socha hai koi bhi Bigg Boss mein nahi jaaeinge. Aur koi reality show ka aaega toh zaroor jaainge (We have now decided not to participate in Bigg Boss. We might consider doing other reality shows),” she added in her vlog.
Armaan Malik’s journey in Bigg Boss OTT 3 saw Payal being the first eliminated, while Armaan himself walked out during the finale week. Kritika, as a finalist, received notable attention but the overall experience left the family wary of similar formats in the future. Although distancing themselves from Bigg Boss, the Malik family remains open to participating in other reality shows, keeping their options open for new entertainment ventures.
