Breaking Relief: Supreme Court Grants Bail to AAP Leader Manish Sisodia in Controversial Delhi Liquor Policy Case
The Supreme Court has granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in the cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. Sisodia, who has been in prison for 18 months, is required to surrender his passport as a condition of his bail.
A bench comprising Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan ruled in favor of Sisodia, stating that the trial court and High Court had deprived him of his right to a speedy trial.
Reacting to the decision, AAP Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh described it as a “victory of truth,” asserting that Sisodia, along with fellow AAP leader Satyendra Jain and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had been “forcibly put in jail.” Singh expressed gratitude towards the Supreme Court and hoped for the imminent release of Kejriwal and Jain. He labeled the court’s decision as a “slap on the dictatorship of the central government.”
In celebration of the ruling, AAP supporters distributed sweets at Sanjay Singh’s residence.
