Heart-Stopping Crisis: 18 Coaches of Mumbai-Howrah Mail Derail in Jharkhand, Leaving 6 Injured

A derailment incident occurred in Jharkhand’s Bara Bambu village early on July 30, when 18 coaches of the Mumbai-Howrah Mail went off the tracks near Chakradharpur around 3:45 am, resulting in six passenger injuries. The derailment involved 16 passenger coaches, one power car, and one pantry car, as confirmed by South Eastern Railways (SER) spokesperson Om Prakash Charan.

The injured passengers initially received medical aid at Barabamboo before being transferred to Chakradharpur for further treatment. Complicating matters, Charan reported a separate goods train derailment nearby, though it remains unclear if the two incidents were interconnected or coincidental.

An investigation into the cause of the derailment is currently underway. In the aftermath, three trains have been cancelled: the Howrah-Kantabanji Ispat Express, Kharagpur-Dhanbad Express, and Howrah-Barbil Express.

Indian Railways officially confirmed the derailment of Train No. 12810 Howrah-CSMT Express in the Chakradharpur division, specifically between Rajkharswan West Outer and Barabamboo. In response to the accident, an Accident Relief Medical Equipment (ARME) team and the Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) of Chakradharpur were swiftly dispatched to the site.

The situation remains under close scrutiny as authorities work to determine the cause of the derailment and ensure the safety of train operations in the area.
