Assam Police Seizes Rs 9 Crore Worth of Yaba Tablets in Cachar
Guwahati: In a significant anti-drug operation, Assam Police apprehended a man and seized a substantial cache of suspected Yaba tablets in Cachar district on Sunday.
According to police officials, the raid took place in the Katakhal area, where a team from the Dholai Police Station intercepted a consignment of 30,000 Yaba tablets. The estimated market value of the confiscated narcotics is approximately Rs 9 crore.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Alim from Saptagram, was found in possession of the illegal substances. Authorities also seized a scooter believed to be used for transporting the contraband. Preliminary investigations suggest that the drugs were being smuggled from Aizawl in Mizoram.
Police are actively probing the case to identify and dismantle a potentially larger drug trafficking network operating in the region.
