Jairam Ramesh Exposes Secret Meeting Between Manipur CM and PM Modi: Demands Proof with ‘Where are the Photographs?’ Plea
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh raised questions about a reported closed-door meeting between Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They allegedly discussed the ethnic violence that plagued the north-eastern state last year. However, Ramesh expressed skepticism over the meeting, noting the absence of photographs, a common practice for such high-profile interactions.
In a post on X, Ramesh commented, “This morning, news emerged that the embattled Manipur CM had a short closed-door meeting with the non-biological PM, in which the self-styled Chanakya and the Raksha Mantri were also present.” He further questioned why neither Modi nor Singh had posted any photographs of the meeting if it had indeed occurred, citing the example of a recent photograph of Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu with the Prime Minister posted by the PMO.
On July 28, Ramesh launched a fierce critique of CM Biren Singh, noting that Manipur’s citizens were questioning whether their Chief Minister had a direct discussion with Prime Minister Modi about the ongoing violence and unrest in their state.
Rounding off his remarks, Ramesh hinted at either reluctance or the possibility that the meeting never took place, adding a layer of intrigue to the ongoing political narrative.
