Concurrently, the IMD has placed Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra under an orange alert.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected to persist over Central India for the next two days. Himachal Pradesh’s capital, Shimla, experienced new rainfall on Saturday, and further downpours are anticipated until July 30. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is forecast for districts including Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Kangra, Kullu, Solan, and Shimla. The IMD also indicated light rain could occur in Sirmaur, Chamba, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti.

For western and central India, extreme rainfall is expected in Gujarat on July 28. Similarly, very heavy rainfall is forecast for Madhya Pradesh on July 31 and in Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat on July 28 and 29.

The press release from July 27 notes isolated very heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand on July 30 and 31 and in East Rajasthan on July 28.
