Paris Olympics 2024, Day 1 Live Updates: Thrilling Win for Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty; Manu Bhaker’s Bold Quest for Shooting Glory
Paris Olympics 2024, Day 1: Mixed Fortunes for Indian Athletes
On the opening day of the Paris Olympics 2024, it’s been a day of mixed results for Indian athletes during the medal events. The highlight has been Manu Bhaker’s impressive performance, securing a spot in the finals of the women’s air pistol event.
In badminton, the dynamic duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, along with rising star Lakshya Sen, triumphed in their initial matches, providing a positive start for India in the sport. Similarly, in table tennis, Harmeet Desai dominated his preliminary round, convincingly defeating Jordan’s Abo Yaman Zaid 4-0.
However, the day also brought its share of disappointments, particularly in shooting. Indian shooters in the 10m air rifle mixed team event failed to qualify for the finals, and the men’s competitors in the 10m air pistol category also missed out on advancing to the final round.
As the day progresses, Indian athletes continue to compete, hoping to add to the nation’s medal tally. Stay tuned for more updates on their performances and the overall medal standings.
