Heartwarming Rescue: Brave Minor Saved from Prostitution in Chennai, Six Arrested in Bold Raid
Selaiyur police recently rescued a 14-year-old girl from sex work in Paduvancherry, Chennai, revealing a disturbing case of child exploitation. Acting on a tip-off, the Child Welfare Committee, Chengalpattu, aided by Selaiyur police, discovered the minor had been abandoned by her parents and taken in by a relative running multiple brothels.
Originally from Semmencherry, the girl moved to the relative’s home in Paduvancherry a year ago. She was then forced into sexual exploitation at various locations, including the relative’s home, Chengalpattu, and KK Nagar. Customers were allowed to sexually assault her, and these incidents were orchestrated by the relative, her sister, and her mother-in-law.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Gautam Goyal, an intensive investigation led by Assistant Commissioner Christin Jayasil uncovered the extent of the racket. So far, six individuals, including the main accused and her co-conspirators, have been arrested and are in judicial custody. Subsequent confessions, eyewitness accounts, and digital evidence identified and led to the arrest of three perpetrators, including a local temple priest.
Authorities are continuing to analyze call data and other evidence from mobile devices, anticipating further arrests. A senior officer confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, and more suspects may be implicated as new evidence surfaces.
