Two students tragically lost their lives, and two others are missing after being swept away by the Kundil River in Assam’s Tinsukia district on July 24. The incident occurred in Paglam village, Sadiya taluk, while the students were bathing in the river. The strong currents are believed to have unexpectedly pulled the group in, leading to the tragedy.

The deceased have been identified as Bhaskar Bhattarai and Amrit Chetry. Authorities have confirmed that two other students, Bibek Chetry and Ram Bhattarai, remain unaccounted for. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has launched a search and rescue operation to locate the missing students.

Further details are awaited as the search operation is ongoing.
