Guwahati, Jul 24: A heartbreaking tragedy has struck the Morigaon district in Assam as three residents have fallen victim to Japanese encephalitis. According to reliable reports, 11 additional patients are currently receiving treatment for the disease and are in stable condition.
The first victim, identified as 22-year-old Rajamani Medhi, succumbed to the illness at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Wednesday, following a week-long battle after his diagnosis. The other two victims are Imrana Begum, a seven-year-old from Gagalmari village, and 66-year-old Bhabakanta Nath from Shimuluguri.
