Shocking Assault in Baksa: Assam Man Brutally Attacks Mason with Iron Rod, Suspect on the Run
Mason Attacked Over Disagreement in Assam Village Remains Bedridden
In a disturbing incident in Assam’s Baksa district, a village mason named Ajay Barman was physically assaulted by Kasumuuddin, a homeowner he was working for. The altercation arose from a disagreement between the two, which quickly escalated. Kasumuuddin, in a fit of rage, struck Barman with an iron rod, resulting in a broken rib for the mason. The severe injury has rendered Barman bedridden.
The attack occurred five days ago, and Barman promptly filed a complaint at the Gowardhana police station. However, despite the serious nature of the assault, the authorities have yet to apprehend the suspect. This lack of prompt action has caused concern and frustration among the local community.
Upon the incident gaining media attention, the police visited Barman’s home five days post-assault, signaling a delayed response. Despite this visit, Kasumuuddin remains at large, adding to the worries over the efficacy of local law enforcement.
Kapil Dev Singh, the secretary of the Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union, has taken an active role in seeking justice for Barman. Alongside the victim, Singh has urged the law enforcement agencies to expedite the arrest of the perpetrator and ensure swift justice.
This incident highlights the pressing need for more responsive and efficient policing, ensuring that justice is served in a timely manner. The local community, backed by student union representatives, continues to press for immediate action, hoping for a resolution that will bring peace and safety to the aggrieved mason and his family.
