Shocking: 26-Year-Old Man Arrested for Gruesome Beheading of Mother in Tripura’s Khowai District
Son Allegedly Murders His Mother in Khowai District
In a shocking incident at Ratanpur village under Khowai District, Tripura, a 26-year-old man allegedly killed his 55-year-old mother, Parbati Jhara, and severed her head with a ‘dao’ on the morning of Wednesday, July 17th.
Krishan Mohan Jhara, the elder son of the deceased, recounted the events to reporters. He explained that after a day of tough labor in the fields, the family had an early dinner, and his mother had gone to sleep with his younger brother, Haricharan Jhara, in a separate room. When the family awoke the next morning, they discovered the gruesome scene.
"We slept early after a hard day’s work. When we woke up, we began calling for my mother and brother. On pushing the door open, we saw my mother’s head severed from her body, and my younger brother was sitting beside her, holding a dao. He did not respond when asked what happened,” said Krishan. The family immediately informed the Tripura police, who arrested Haricharan and secured the crime scene.
Khowai Sub-divisional Police Officer Prasun Kanti Majumder, Officer In Charge of Khowai Police Station Subir Malakar, and other officials quickly arrived at the scene following the incident. The police confirmed the occurrence after receiving the report of a murder in Ratanpur village. Senior police officials responded promptly to the tragic event.
"The deceased woman, Parbati Jhara, was killed by her younger son," police officials stated. Haricharan Jhara was taken into custody, and his mother’s body was sent to the hospital for a postmortem examination.
This harrowing incident has left the community in shock, with inquiries ongoing to uncover further details surrounding the family altercation that led to the tragic death of Parbati Jhara.
