Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi to Launch ‘Aarakshan Bachao Yatra’ from July 25th
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Advocate Prakash Ambedkar, President of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, announced the commencement of the ‘Aarakshan Bachao Yatra,’ a major campaign to protect and promote reservations, in a press conference held today. The yatra will begin from Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai on July 25th and conclude in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on August 8th, traveling through several districts in the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra.
During the press conference, Ambedkar outlined several critical demands that the yatra aims to highlight. These include enhancing reservations for the Other Backward Classes (OBC), increasing scholarships for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Scheduled Castes (SC), extending these scholarships to include OBC students, and implementing reservations for the Kunbi community.
The campaign will feature corner meetings and public gatherings at various locations along the route to mobilize support and awareness for these causes. Ambedkar stressed the importance of these demands in ensuring educational and social equity for marginalized communities.
The yatra is expected to draw significant participation from the public and local leaders, aiming to bring the issues of reservation and scholarship enhancement to the forefront of state policy discussions.
