Shocking Seizure: 3.8 kg Ganja and 2 kg Opium Uncovered in Daring Busts – Public Safety Triumph!
In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activities, the Cyberabad Special Operation Team (SOT) in collaboration with Dundigal police arrested a security guard from an industrial equipment supply company for possessing 3.8 kilograms of ganja. The accused, Subhakanta Jena, 22, had been sourcing drugs from Odisha and selling them to customers in Hyderabad. Authorities reported that Jena collected the contraband from a supplier at Secunderabad railway station and subsequently stored it at his residence in Gagillapur. The ganja was seized during a raid conducted by the police.
In a separate incident, the Medchal SOT, along with Alwal police, seized two kilograms of opium-mixed powder estimated to be worth ₹10 lakh. The accused, Ashok Kumar, 25, was employed at a steel factory and was apprehended following a raid at his residence in Dharma Reddy colony. Police sources revealed that Kumar had sourced the contraband from his hometown in Rajasthan for personal consumption.
These back-to-back arrests underscore the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb the illegal drug trade in the region. Both operations highlight the critical need for robust surveillance and intervention strategies to tackle the distribution and consumption of narcotics in Telangana. The raids not only led to significant drug seizures but also unveiled the clandestine networks that facilitate such illegal activities. Police officials have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying their crackdown on drug peddling to ensure public safety.
