Frustrated Job Aspirants Rally Against Unjust Delays in Jail Police Recruitment Process
Agartala, 15th July 2024: Jail Police Job Aspirants Demand Speedy Recruitment Outside IG Prison Office
By TC News Desk
Job seekers aspiring for positions in the Jail Police staged a protest outside the IG Prison office in Agartala on Monday, insisting on the expedited completion of the recruitment process. Candidates first underwent physical measurements in 2022, yet nearly a year later, they have not seen any scheduled written or viva tests.
"We are here today to urge the Chief Minister to expedite the recruitment process," expressed one frustrated aspirant. "It’s unacceptable that we have waited this long without any updates."
Undeterred by their inability to meet with officials, the aspirants carried placards and voiced their dissatisfaction with the prolonged timeline for filling vacant positions. They aimed to submit a formal deputation to highlight their concerns but were once again left unheard.
Critics have noted that the government takes four to five years to complete a single recruitment cycle, during which numerous job vacancies arise. This prolonged timeline has prompted questions about the government’s commitment to addressing unemployment. As one observer remarked, "It raises the issue of what the government’s true intentions are regarding job creation. The answer may become evident at the ballot box in future elections."
The protest underscores a broader frustration among job seekers regarding the government’s sluggish approach to recruitment, which could have political ramifications. As the job aspirants continue to await clear answers and decisive action, the pressure mounts on the administration to demonstrate its resolve in tackling unemployment more effectively.
