Outrage Erupts: RJD Denounces Nitish Amidst ‘Jungle Raj’ Claims Following VIP Leader’s Father’s Tragic Murder in Bihar
Hours after the tragic murder of Jitan Sahani, father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, at his residence in Darbhanga, Bihar, a political confrontation erupted between allies of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the ruling JDU-BJP coalition. RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav sharply criticized the Nitish Kumar-led government, accusing it of indifference to the rising criminal activities in the state. He alleged that the Chief Minister might be unaware of ongoing crimes, questioning the safety of political leaders in Bihar and asserting that the state’s system has collapsed.
Echoing Yadav’s sentiment, RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari also condemned the alleged ‘Jungle Raj’ under the current regime, questioning the safety of common citizens if leaders’ families are not secure. Tiwari demanded answers from both the state government and the BJP-led NDA at the center, labeling the murder as a highly unfortunate event and describing the current state governance as ‘maha-jungle raj.’
In response, the Nitish Kumar government accused the opposition of politicizing the incident. JDU Leader Neeraj Kumar expressed grief over the brutal murder and called for cooperation in the investigation. Union ministers Ramnath Thakur and Giriraj Singh assured that the investigation is ongoing and that the perpetrators would face justice. Thakur confirmed that the state government would act against those responsible post-investigation, while Singh emphasized that the accused would not be spared.
Further, Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary pledged support to Mukesh Sahani’s family, ensuring that the culprits would be imprisoned. Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin revealed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) had been formed to probe into the murder, suggesting personal enmity as a possible motive. Nabin contrasted the current administration with previous regimes, claiming that criminals under their governance would face inevitable justice.
This incident has ignited a fierce political debate, reflecting broader concerns over law and order in Bihar.
