India’s Resolute Stand: Himanta Biswa Sarma Vows Powerful Response to Pakistan-Sponsored Terrorism After Doda Encounter
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, during his two-day visit to Jharkhand for BJP’s workers’ felicitation programs and Vijay Sankalp Sabhas, asserted that India would firmly counter Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Reacting to the recent encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, which resulted in the death of four army personnel, including an officer, Sarma emphasized India’s commitment to maintaining peace in the region and countering any conspiracies from Pakistan.
During his visit, Sarma stated, “India will give a befitting reply to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Peace has been restored in Jammu and Kashmir, and it is our responsibility to maintain it.” He underscored the government’s resolve to counter terrorism effectively.
Highlighting BJP’s political agenda in Jharkhand, Sarma expressed confidence in the party’s ability to form a “double-engine government” by unseating the current regime. He conveyed this to reporters upon his arrival at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport.
On Tuesday, Sarma is scheduled to visit the Torpa and Khunti assembly constituencies and engage in BJP’s ongoing programs aimed at celebrating their successes in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The BJP won eight Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand, with its ally AJSU Party securing one seat in a state that has 14 parliamentary constituencies.
The state BJP’s assembly-wise worker felicitation programs and Vijay Sankalp Sabhas commenced on July 6. As part of this initiative, Union Minister and BJP election in-charge for Jharkhand, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, had earlier visited Ranchi on Sunday to participate in similar events in the Khijri assembly segment.
Sarma’s visit underscores the BJP’s strategic efforts in gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections, reinforcing their electoral strength and maintaining momentum post-Lok Sabha polls. On Wednesday, Sarma is set to address party workers at the BJP headquarters in Ranchi as part of the Vijay Sankalp Sabha.
