The Hindu’s culinary talent hunt, ‘Our State Our Taste’, aimed at discovering top cooking champions from Telangana, has reached its grand finale. The climactic event is scheduled for July 13 at Plaza The Hotel, Tourism Plaza, starting at 10 a.m. Six finalists—Sneha Dummu (Secunderabad), Santosh Bangar (Hyderabad), R. Ramya (Warangal), K. Vani (Khammam), C.H. Ushasri (Karimnagar), and D. Kalyani (Nizamabad)—are set to compete for the title.
The competition, which began last month, saw a staggering 1,200 participants from six cities in Telangana presenting over 5,000 dishes, including timeless recipes, in the regional rounds. The finalists are tasked with showcasing authentic Telangana flavors, judged by celebrity chefs ETV Raju and Chinnam Raju.
Winners will bag cash prizes of ₹75,000, ₹50,000, and ₹25,000, along with goodies valued up to ₹2 lakh. The ultimate champion will be honored with the coveted ‘Master Chef of Telangana’ title. Organizers have emphasized that ‘Our State Our Taste’ is not merely a talent showcase, but also a celebration of Telangana’s rich culinary heritage and traditions.
The competition is presented by Aashirvaad Masala Karam, powered by Parry’s Dal/Pulses, and in association with RKG Ghee & Bambino. Additional partners include CMR Shopping Mall as the textiles partner, GRT Jewellers as the jewellery partner, and Raju’s Food Art as the knowledge partner. ‘Hotel The Plaza’, Begumpet, serves as the venue partner for the grand finale.
