Breaking: Heartwarming Triumph on AIR News Today!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Mumbai, Maharashtra today to launch, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for a plethora of significant infrastructure projects valued at over ₹29,400 crore. Key events will take place at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, where the Prime Minister will officiate groundbreaking ceremonies for multiple critical undertakings in the road, rail, and ports sectors.
Among the major projects, Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Thane Borivali Tunnel Project, an endeavor worth ₹16,600 crore. This twin-tube tunnel aims to streamline connectivity by passing beneath Sanjay Gandhi National Park, directly linking the Western Express Highway at Borivali with Thane Ghodbander Road, spanning a total length of 11.8 km. The tunnel is expected to reduce the travel distance by 12 km and cut travel time by approximately one hour.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will initiate the tunnel work for the Goregaon Mulund Link Road Project, valued at over ₹6,300 crore. Further, he will set the foundation for the Kalyan Yard Remodelling and Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai, which will aid in the efficient segregation of long-distance and suburban rail traffic.
The inauguration agenda includes the dedication of new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and the extension of Platforms 10 and 11 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station. These upgrades will facilitate the accommodation of longer trains, thereby boosting passenger capacity and easing congestion at these pivotal railway stations.
In the realm of social welfare, Modi will launch the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana, an innovative internship program with an outlay of approximately ₹5,600 crore. This initiative is designed to combat youth unemployment by providing skill enhancement and industry exposure opportunities for individuals aged 18 to 30 years.
Later in the evening, at around 5:30 PM, Modi will visit the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Secretariat at Bandra Kurla Complex to inaugurate the INS Towers, marking a significant moment for journalistic infrastructure in the nation.
This visit underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, fostering youth employment, and advancing national development.
