CPI(M) Takes a Stand: Urgent Siege Looms Over Mayor’s Office Due to Prolonged Padil-Pumpwell Road Project Delays
CPI(M) Warns of Siege Over Delay in Road Project
Mangaluru, [Date] – Members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] staged a protest in Naguri against the prolonged delay in completing the Padil-Pumpwell road widening project managed by Mangaluru Smart City Ltd (MSCL). The protest, held on Friday, highlighted the frustration of local residents due to the incomplete project that has caused significant commuter inconvenience.
Addressing the gathering, Sunil Kumar Bajal, a CPI(M) district unit member, criticized MSCL’s handling of the project, which began two years ago but remains unfinished. Bajal accused the organization of irresponsibility and warned that the party might lay siege to the Mayor’s office if the road construction is not expedited.
Similarly, Santosh Bajal, the secretary of CPI(M)’s Mangaluru South Assembly unit, expressed concerns over the project’s quality. He alleged that the construction is progressing at a slow pace and the work itself is substandard. "Taxpayers’ money is being squandered on an unscientific and poorly executed project," he remarked, urging for immediate corrective measures.
The CPI(M) members, through their protest, demanded accountability and prompt action from MSCL to ensure the timely and efficient completion of the Padil-Pumpwell road.
