Breaking: NIA Unveils Explosive Charge Sheets for Two More in Shivamogga ISIS Conspiracy Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a supplementary charge sheet on Tuesday against two additional individuals in connection with the Shivamogga ISIS conspiracy case, bringing the total number of accused to 10. The newly chargesheeted individuals, Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taaha and Mussavir Hussain Shazib, were previously implicated in the Rameshwaram Café blast and involved in the Al-Hind ISIS module in Bengaluru. Residents of Shivamogga, both have been evading arrest since 2020 and subsequently formed the Tirthahalli module with their associates. They are considered the main orchestrators of the case, actively engaged in radicalizing and recruiting Muslim youth.
“The two men significantly contributed to radicalizing and recruiting Muslim youths, including their co-accused in this case,” the NIA stated. The agency took over the investigation from Karnataka police in November 2022. The case pertains to the activities of the banned terrorist group ISIS, including violent incidents like arson, trial explosions, and flag burning, alongside radicalization efforts, recruitment, and terror funding as part of a broader plot to destabilize India.
The NIA’s recent actions underscore the ongoing threat posed by ISIS-inspired radicals and reinforce the importance of vigilant counter-terrorism efforts.
