Trisha Krishnan Triumphs: Emotional Victory as Dispute Settled and Court Fees Refunded by Madras HC
Trisha Krishnan Resolves Property Dispute Amicably
Actor Trisha Krishnan has reached a settlement with her neighbors over a property dispute concerning potential structural damage, leading the Madras High Court to order a refund of her court fee. The court case, filed earlier this year, sought to prevent her neighbors on Cenotaph Road Second Lane, Chennai, from further demolition or construction that could compromise the stability of her property.
The matter was resolved when Justice RMT Teekaa Raman recorded a joint compromise memo signed by Krishnan, her neighbors Mr. Meyappan and Ms. Kaveri, and their legal representatives. The High Court directed the registry to refund the fees according to regulations.
The dispute arose when Trisha, who bought her property in 2005, sought legal action against her neighbors who acquired the adjacent property in 2023 and began redevelopment. Concerns were raised over a common wall integral to both properties and the risk of structural damage.
On January 24, Justice N. Sathish Kumar acknowledged the common wall issue, recognizing the potential damage to Trisha’s property due to redevelopment actions. Consequently, an interim injunction was granted to prevent any possible harm until further notice.
Efforts to settle the disagreement culminated on March 21, 2024, when both parties appeared in court and reached an amicable resolution. The High Court subsequently extended the interim injunction as necessary, ensuring the safety of the properties involved. The resolution of this dispute highlights the importance of collaborative problem-solving in property-related conflicts.
