Exciting News: Tripura Set to Launch Its Second Rubber Park, Sparking Unprecedented Industrial Growth
During the Tripura Rubber Conclave-2024 in Agartala, Chief Minister Manik Saha unveiled plans for a new rubber park in Santirbazar, South Tripura District. The two-day conclave spotlighted Tripura’s burgeoning rubber production industry and its substantial potential for industrial growth.
Tripura holds the position of India’s second-largest rubber producer, contributing 9% to the national output. CM Saha highlighted that the state’s rubber is internationally acclaimed for its quality, paving the way for diverse industrial applications. The proposed rubber park in Santirbazar is set to enhance the state’s rubber processing capacities, complementing the already established facility in Bodhjungnagar.
Saha also pointed to the state’s achievements in the manufacture of high-quality rubber wood furniture, which is gaining traction both locally and in export markets. The conclave featured insights from successful entrepreneurs in the rubber industry and included a documentary screening on the development of Tripura’s rubber sector.
A booklet titled “Transforming Tripura: The Land of Opportunities” was launched by the Chief Minister, foretelling the state’s efforts to attract investments across multiple sectors, including rubber, bamboo, and food processing. Government representatives underscored ongoing initiatives to foster an industry-friendly environment through the development of specialized industrial parks and zones.
The event drew significant participation from key figures such as Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, and other high-ranking officials. The conclave reaffirmed Tripura’s dedication to leveraging its abundant natural resources for economic advancement and establishing the state as a prime investment destination.
