Terrifying Snake Encounter on Mumbai-Bound Train Sends Passengers Fleeing in Panic
Passengers aboard the Garib Rath Express from Jabalpur to Mumbai were startled by an unexpected guest—a long snake found coiled around an upper berth. A viral video on social media shows the snake attempting to reach the air conditioning vent from berth number 23 in coach 617. The sight incited panic among travelers, leading railway staff to relocate the affected passengers to another coach.
The incident occurred as the train approached Kasara Railway Station, according to a report by Republic World. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and the snake was safely removed. A passenger shared the video on social media platform X, humorously captioning, “Snake On A Train! Gareeb rath mein ameer kahan se aa gaya ye?” highlighting the passengers’ gallows humor amid the scare.
Although Mint couldn’t verify the video’s authenticity independently, West Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Harshit Shrivastava noted that Central Railways is actively working to confirm details about the sighting. “Details are being gathered from officials responsible for the Kasara route,” he stated.
In a related note, just days earlier, a seven-foot-long python was found in a Noida village, Uttar Pradesh. District Forest Officer Pramod Kumar affirmed the snake was captured and safely released back into its natural habitat.
