Tragic Discovery of Missing Woman in Agartala

Agartala, 21st September 2024: The body of Yasmin Khatun, a mentally unstable woman missing since September 15, was found floating in a river in the Ishanchandra Nagar Gabtali area on Saturday afternoon, causing significant concern among locals.
Yasmin, wife of Yunus Mia from Fultali Rajeshwari Nagar, had given birth to twins several months ago. Tragically, one of the twins died shortly after birth, leading to Yasmin’s mental decline. Her disappearance prompted Yunus to file a missing person report at Amtali police station.
Despite extensive search efforts by the police and her relatives, Yasmin remained missing until her body was discovered. As news spread, a large crowd gathered at the scene. Yasmin’s family, including her husband, confirmed her identity.
Sub-inspector Susmita Debnath and officers from Amtali police station arrived promptly, and the forensic team began a preliminary investigation. Yasmin’s body was sent to Tripura Medical College & Hospital at Hapania for a post-mortem examination.
An unusual death case has been registered, and the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Yasmin’s death. Her body will be handed over to the family post the examination on Sunday.
