Kamrup Metro Acts to Shield Students: Adjusted School Timings Amidst Searing Heatwave
Kamrup (Metro) District Schools Implement Revised Schedules Amid Heat Wave
Guwahati: The Kamrup (Metro) district has mandated revised school timings starting from September 21, following directives from the District Mission Coordinator.
Due to a persistent heat wave affecting the area, all schools, including private, state, and central government institutions, are required to follow new safety guidelines until further notice. These changes aim to mitigate the risks associated with extreme temperatures.
The revised school hours are from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Additionally, morning assemblies are now to be held inside classrooms rather than in open spaces. Proper hydration facilities must be provided, and students are advised to forego waistcoats and ties for comfort.
To ensure the well-being of students and staff, classrooms must be well-ventilated with all fans in working order. In cases of power cuts, schools are responsible for providing alternative energy sources to maintain ventilation.
This proactive approach is in response to the severe heat conditions in Assam, which have also complicated daily commutes for residents.
This summary captures the essential details while maintaining a professional and concise journalistic tone.
