Shiva Kumar Timsina’s Emotional Exit: Sikkim Democratic Front Leader Resigns Amid Personal Turmoil
Shiva Kumar Timsina, a key member of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), officially resigned from the party on Saturday, September 14. Timsina submitted a formal resignation letter to the party’s president, Pawan Kumar Chamling.
In his letter, Timsina lauded Chamling for his substantial contributions to Sikkim’s development. He highlighted Chamling’s record as India’s longest-serving Chief Minister and recognized his pivotal role in modernizing the state. “You have made our head upright, and thou shalt be our crown forever,” Timsina wrote, reflecting on Chamling’s enduring impact.
Timsina mentioned that, despite his unfulfilled aspiration to engage more closely with Chamling, personal reasons prompted his decision to leave the party. He conveyed gratitude for the experiences and leadership skills he had acquired during his tenure with the SDF.
Timsina’s departure signifies a notable shift within the SDF, marked by appreciation and acknowledgment of Chamling’s legacy in Sikkim’s political landscape.
