Government Committed to Making Public Services Accessible to All: CM
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed office building of the Bishalgarh Municipal Council, built at a cost of Rs. 2 crore 88 lakh, and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering public welfare projects and government services to the last person in society.
Addressing a gathering at Bishalgarh Town Hall, the Chief Minister also virtually inaugurated projects involving the construction of CC roads and drains under the RCC Development Project in the Bishalgarh Municipal Council area. He said the state government is implementing a range of welfare initiatives for the overall development of the people and is working to make various government services easily accessible to every citizen.
Highlighting the scale of infrastructure development in the state, Dr. Saha said foundation stones for projects worth about Rs. 1,000 crore have been laid so far in the current financial year. “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ mantra, the state government is working to improve the quality of life and livelihoods of the last person in society and provide civic services,” he said.
The Chief Minister also spoke at length on the government’s focus on healthcare, stating that it remains committed to providing better medical services across the state. He noted that homeopathic and Ayurvedic medical colleges have been established to strengthen the state’s healthcare infrastructure, while trauma care centres have been started in every district hospital. Owing to these improvements, he said, kidney transplants can now be performed within Tripura itself.
Referring to the day’s inaugurations, Dr. Saha said the projects launched would help provide better services to residents of the Municipal Council area. He further informed that construction work on an eco-friendly electric furnace is underway in the Bishalgarh Municipal Council area and will be completed soon.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MLA Sushanta Deb, Sepahijala District Magistrate Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, Sipahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, Bishalgarh Municipal Council Chairperson Anjan Purkayastha, TIDC Chairman Nabadal Banik, Sepahijala District Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma, and Additional District Magistrate Subhash Dutta, among others.
On the occasion, various protective equipment was handed over to 100 sanitation workers of the Bishalgarh Municipal Council area. In addition, seven Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the subdivision were awarded National Quality Assurance Certificates, recognising the quality of healthcare services being delivered at the grassroots level. Adding to the day’s milestones, nine Gram Panchayats in Bishalgarh were felicitated with certificates recognising them as TB-free Gram Panchayats, underscoring the state’s progress in public health outcomes.
