Adarsh Gourav Triumphantly Heads to Toronto for Emotional World Premiere of ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ at TIFF
Mumbai, Sep 13: Actor Adarsh Gourav is currently in Toronto for the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where his latest film, “Superboys of Malegaon,” is set to have its world premiere. Expressing his exhilaration, Adarsh shared, “I am beyond excited to be part of TIFF with such a special film. ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ is a project very close to my heart, as it narrates a story of passion, determination, and a love for cinema. Collaborating with Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar’s production house has been an incredible journey, and having this film premiere at such an esteemed festival feels surreal.”
Directed by Reema Kagti and produced under Zoya Akhtar’s Tiger Baby banner, “Superboys of Malegaon” is a heartwarming and humorous film inspired by real-life events. It follows the life of Nasir Shaikh, portrayed by Adarsh, an amateur filmmaker from Malegaon, Maharashtra. Nasir, along with his equally inexperienced crew, directs low-budget spoofs of Bollywood and Hollywood classics. The film also features Vineet Kumar Singh and Shashank Arora in prominent roles.
Reflecting on his character, Adarsh said, “Nasir’s journey as an amateur filmmaker is one of hope and creativity in the face of limitations, and I hope audiences at TIFF will connect with that spirit. This film is truly the most special piece of work I have ever done.”
“Superboys of Malegaon” will make its world debut at TIFF on September 13.
Adarsh Gourav began his acting career with the 2010 drama film “My Name Is Khan.” He gained critical acclaim with his role in the 2021 satirical film “The White Tiger,” which earned him a BAFTA nomination. Adarsh has also been part of TV series such as “Hostel Daze” and “Guns & Gulaabs,” and the film “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.”
Adarsh’s presence at TIFF with “Superboys of Malegaon” highlights his growing reputation in the entertainment industry, marking yet another milestone in his impressive career trajectory.
