Unlock Adventure: Inner Line Permit Now Essential for Three Stunning Districts in Nagaland
The State Government of Nagaland has approved the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the districts of Chumoukedima, Niuland, and Dimapur. This decision was made during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
During a press briefing in Kohima, Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, highlighted that the ILP requirements in Dimapur will categorize residents into three distinct groups. Category-I comprises individuals who settled in Dimapur before December 1, 1963. These residents are exempt from ILP requirements and will be eligible for a Smart Card, Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC), and Domicile Certificate.
Category-II includes those who settled between December 1, 1963, and November 21, 1979. Similar to Category-I, these residents will not need an ILP and can receive a PRC with the option for a Domicile Certificate.
Lastly, Category-III encompasses individuals who settled in Dimapur on or after November 22, 1979. This group will be required to obtain an ILP.
Minister Along also announced that specific groups such as students, teachers, technical personnel, and business partners will be eligible for ILPs valid for two to five years, based on their purpose of stay in the state. He emphasized that the government is enhancing the digital system for ILP issuance to streamline the application process.
This move by the Nagaland government aims to manage the entry and residence of non-locals in specific districts, ensuring better regulation and control.
