Triumphant Dhubri Girl Illuminates National Conference, Proudly Represents SHoDH and North East Central University
Anusmita Saha Roy, a criminology and criminal law student from Tezpur Central University in Assam’s Dhubri, represented the North East Central University’s Students for Holistic Development of Humanity (SHoDH) at the “Resurgent Bharat: Insights from Northeast India” conference. This esteemed two-day event, hosted at Tezpur University, convened scholars, policymakers, and thought leaders to explore Northeast India’s role in the nation’s resurgence.
The conference commenced with an inaugural address by Tezpur University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, who highlighted the Northeast’s critical role in India’s future, emphasizing that a resurgent Bharat hinges on the region’s development and prosperity. Prof. Singh championed education as the primary catalyst for transformative change in Northeast India.
Prominent figures such as Dr. Rita Moni Baishya from Gauhati University, Rahul Rana from Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Arjun Anand, National Convenor of SHoDH, and Swathi Chintala, Convenor of the Northeast Universities Workshop, also contributed to the discussions. Ashish Chauhan, National Organizing Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), addressed the “Idea of Bharat,” underscoring India’s enduring heritage of knowledge, philosophy, and traditions.
The event saw active participation from students of various universities across Northeast India, including Nagaland University, Manipur University, Rajiv Gandhi University, Mizoram University, Tripura University, Cotton University, and Gauhati University. Anusmita’s involvement brought pride to Dhubri and underscored the region’s contributions to the national dialogue on India’s future, specifically within the context of Northeast India’s development.
