Manipur Government Reshuffles 9 IAS Officers Immediately
The Manipur government on Tuesday issued notifications from the Chief Secretary announcing a reshuffle of nine IAS officers, with transfers and postings taking immediate effect. The orders said the changes were made in the public interest and will remain in force until further orders.
Mohan Lal Meena, currently Secretary of the Commission of Inquiry into the Manipur Violence and Secretary of the Manipur Lok Ayukta, has been given additional charge as Commissioner (Works).
N. Ashok Kumar, who has been serving as Commissioner-cum-Secretary for Home, Relief and Disaster Management and Works, Special Secretary for Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, and Resident Commissioner at Manipur Bhawan in New Delhi, has been posted as Commissioner-cum-Secretary for Finance and Home. He will continue as Resident Commissioner, Manipur Bhawan, and will also take charge as Commissioner to the Chief Minister.
Hungyo Worshang, until now Secretary for Tourism and Commissioner (Excise), has been posted as Secretary for Public Health Engineering (PHE) while retaining the charge of Commissioner (Excise).
Neeta Arambam, Secretary of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC), has been posted as Secretary for Information and Public Relations (IPR) and appointed Director (Medical Education).
W. Malemnganba Chenglei, Secretary for Cooperation and Special Secretary for Finance, has been posted as Secretary for Water Resources (WR) while retaining the charge of Special Secretary (Finance).
Somorjit Salam, who was Secretary for Water Resources and Information Technology (WR/IT) and Director (Medical Education), has been posted as Secretary for Information Technology and Relief and Disaster Management.
Rangitabali Waikhom, Secretary of the Manipur Staff Selection Commission and Special Secretary for School Education, has been posted as Secretary for Tourism and Cooperation.
L. Bikram, formerly Director (Tourism) and Special Secretary (DP), has been posted as Special Secretary (DP).
Khumanthem Diana, Director (Transport) and Additional Secretary for Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, will continue as Director (Transport) and has been given the additional charge of Director (Tourism).
The notifications emphasize administrative realignment across key departments including finance, home, public health engineering, tourism, water resources, information technology and relief management, reflecting the state government’s stated aim of reorganizing responsibilities in the public interest.
