In a statement, the committee said the court’s decision has strengthened its resolve to continue the campaign for land rights across Assam. The group’s legal team — senior advocate Shantanu Barthakur and advocates Mrityunjay Pegu and Dipesh Agarwal — represented the four and were thanked for securing their release on bail. The committee also said legal proceedings remain active in a related case involving Adit Chandra Rabha, adviser to the Borduwar Bagaan Land Pattal Demand Committee. The four were arrested earlier in July during protests against a proposed luxury hotel near Kaziranga National Park.
